novel is pleased to announce the ESM 2006 meeting will
return home
to Bavaria, Germany. The selected venue for our meeting
is situated
in the Bavarian Alps, 1,100 meters above sea level at
Lake Spitzingsee,
the area’s largest mountain lake.
The ESM 2006 meeting will reflect the
state of the art in pressure distribution measurement
and provide
a platform for discussion of the latest scientific advances
in the field.
This three-day meeting is designed to bring together
scientists, engineers,
medical professionals and technicians, and all others
with interest in
pressure distribution.The ESM 2006 meeting will be held
in conjunction
with the Munich hosted World Congress of Biomechanics,
July 29 - August 4, 2006. Details provided

Dear
ESM2006 participants,
Optional ESM workshops will be held on Tuesday, July
25th at the novel gmbh headquarters, Ismaninger Strasse
51.
Three 45 minute workshops are available beginning
at 10:00 am or 2 pm.
Workshop
1 Physics and Biomechanics of Pedography
Workshop 2 Hardware, Firmware, and Measuring Software
for Pedography
Workshop 3 Analysis Software and Reporting in Pedography
The
workshops are consecutive sessions to provide attendees
with the opportunity to participate in all three workshops.
If
you would like to participate in the workshops, please
plan your visit accordingly. Please specify by return
email which workshops you would like to attend.
Also
on Tuesday, July 25th, the Welcome Reception will
be held at Storms Art Gallery, located adjacent to
novel gmbh at Ismaninger Strasse 51.
Transportation to the conference venue, ArabellaSheraton
at Spitzingsee is organized by novel gmbh and the
one-hour bus ride will depart novel gmbh beginning
at 9:30 pm

Outdoor

Dear
ESM2006 participants,
The
conference venue Spitzingsee is located in the Bavarian
Alps, a perfect location for outdoor activities.
It
is planned to be outdoors for 6-7 hours during which
we will offer moderate level mountain biking or hiking
followed by a barbeque party on Woerth Island at Lake
Schliersee, a small lake in the area.
For
those attendees wishing to hike, we plan a tour up
to Mount Rotwand and down to the Pfanngraben fresh
water basins. Please wear appropriate shoes for hiking.
The hikers will meet the mountain bike group around
lunchtime at Pfanngraben to have lunch and possibly
cool their feet.
We all return to the tour starting point, ArabellaSheraton
Hotel, where a bus will be waiting to take the hikers
to Lake Schliersee. The ferry will be waiting to take
us to the Island.
For
the mountain bikers a moderate ride on forest roads
is planned. The mountain bike tour in the Bavarian
Alps will end up directly at Lake Schliersee, where
the bikers will once again meet with the hikers and
everyone will board the Island ferry.
Transportation
from the island will be no later than 11:00 pm. Those
who would like to stay longer will have a nice 2000
meter challenge night swim (no sharks!).
Please
let us know by email what activity you would like
to do so we can prepare for the events and reserve
the necessary number of bicycles. A 20.00 euro fee
is required for the bike rental. Please specify name,
gender, and bike size when confirming your mountain
bike tour participation.
Those who do not wish to participate in hiking or
biking will be required to sing two songs on the island
and wash all the party dishes.
August in Bavaria can be very warm (up to 34 degrees
C), but it can also rain with temperatures down to
17 degrees C. Therefore, please make sure you have
appropriate clothing and do not forget your swimsuit
and towel.
Information should be provided for both attendees
and accompanying persons.

Dear
ESM2006 participants,
Please
provide us with your Munich airport arrival and departure
information in order that bus transportation can be
arranged.
On
July 25th, a shuttle bus will operate from the Munich
airport to the novel gmbh headquarters, Ismaninger
Strasse 51, where the workshops and opening reception
will be held.
In
the evening, buses will transport attendees to the
conference venue, ArabellaSheraton hotel at Spitzingsee,
approximately a one hour bus ride.
On
Saturday, July 29th, transportation will be scheduled
from ArabellaSheraton hotel at Spitzingsee to Munich
city and Munich airport.
Transportation
will also be provided for the evening dinner and outdoor
day.
